In the basement of the Halifax and right next door to a building named Stone House, I think there must be something in the name but I don't know what it is. I have visited this when it was the Old Monk and it is much improved. I visited on a quiet evening when there was plenty of places to sit. It was ideal for meeting with a partner and the fact had not gone a miss. The food looked good although I didn't eat. Beer selection was not huge but there was plenty to choose from (Directors, Green King IPA). Overall not a bad pub for an underground venue.
