The first non-smoking pub in the City, long before the law was changed, July 2007. It's a good place to stand outside during the summer and watch the city workers heading towards Liverpool St, you need to do this outside at the windows are high off the ground . It has an All-Bar-One type feel, but with a good selection of ale.

I'm not sure if it's The Phoenix or just Phoenix, but as you can see from the sign, I'm sticking with Phoenix.

Throgmorton Street is named after Sir Nicholas Throkmorton, servant of Queen Elizabeth, his tomb can be seen in the church of St. Katherine Cree located on Leadenhall Street near Leadenhall Market.
