The Still & Star is small pub, if you want to have a sit down and lounge then the bar is not the place for you, you could try upstairs though where there is more seating, but you will miss out on any fun.  This is a very traditional London Pub, wooden floor, dark wood everywhere and horse brasses.  Service is excellent and very friendly, it's like going around a mates house and he's got this bar in the lounge.  It was a very hot day in July when I visited and there was more going on outside than in.  This pub looks odd amongst the current buildings at Aldgate, but it is lovely and refreshing to step back in time, definitely pop in if you are close to Aldgate.

Records show that Francis Newland was the Still & Star publican in 1820.
