Kings Stores pub, City of London

The Kings Stores is located at the end of Widegate Street at the corner with Sandy's Row, and despite it not having an EC postcode it does just squeeze inside the City boundary. The pub is located on the ground floor (with a function room upstairs) of rather a beautiful building dating to around 1900. Venturing in, you might well expect to find a lovely tradition pub, but you will not, Greene King has followed a modern theme. Brightly painted walls, an abundance of bright lights, wooden seating and floors, all of which go to make this one of the nosiest pubs in the City, you really do need to shout to be heard. I settled for the IPA, which was of good quality, which you would expect from a pub which holds the Cask Marque accreditation.
